A practising contemporary embroiderer and author, Chris was a City and Guilds tutor in Creative Embroidery for 25 years in Glasgow, Scotland. Her focus now is as an independent researcher in 16th and 17th Century English embroidery techniques (history, development and the practice of techniques). Working for Glasgow’s Burrell Collection, she photographed, researched and catalogued the historical embroidery in their collection. She identifies stitches and techniques to be used in her courses. She continues to research extensively in museums in the UK, USA and Canada. Find out more.
