Annual Exhibition 2019
and Altered Art Mini Piece Challenge
Congratulations to all exhibitors! Every visitor to our annual exhibition in October enjoyed brilliant display of embroidery and textile art.
Our Altered Art Mini Challenge, judged by Robyn Steel-Stickland of Opendrawer, prompted 17 clever and witty entries. Some referenced known artworks while others were inspired by the possibilities of altering the materials themselves. Congratulations to our winner Margaret Bennett for After the Sale, to Yvonne Walton for her Highly Commended Blackman’s The Presentation & a Little Bit of Alice’ and to Jill Saunder for Just a Sip which received a Commended award.
The People’s Choice Award went down to the wire with Lynne Stone’s Mugga Ironbark receiving the most votes by a whisper to win the $50 voucher kindly donated by Can Do Books.
Acquired for the Guild’s Collection
Congratulations to two North Eastern Branch members, whose works have been acquired for the EGV Collection – Rhonda Johnstone’s Grevillea ‘Coconut Ice’ and Agnes Robinson’s Blue Wrens in a Little House.
