Coronavirus News 2

12 March 2020

As the World Health Organisation has now declared a pandemic, we need to consider ALL members of The Embroiderers Guild, Victoria.

We will hold the monthly general meeting as usual at Embroidery House on  Saturday March 14 at 2.00pm.

Our speaker, who arrived in Australia from Norway on March 6, has isolated herself and will not make the presentation this month. She has offered to do so at a later date.

As a precaution, if you feel you are unable to come to Embroidery House on Saturday or any day during this unsettling time, please feel comfortable in your decision.

We recognise that we are an older group in the community and those of us over 80 are in the more vulnerable group, as well as those with an existing condition which may be compromised by falling victim to this vicious virus.

State President, EGV.

This image is NOT a microscopic view of the virus! It’s part of a wonderful fantasy piece by Mary Robbie entitled ‘Ambassador from Alpha Centauri and Entourage’, using metalwork, beading and machine embroidery. It was one of her final pieces for the masterclass course, and part of the Sixty Stitchers display at Embroidery House over February 2020.
