1707 - A MOST UNUSUAL SAMPLER: The Embroiderers' Guild of WA have charted an 18th Century Sampler from their collection and offering 2 pdf chart packs for purchase.
Option 1 @ $15 contains all the quirks and errors stitched on the original. Option 2 @ $20 includes a re-imagined version for those preferring to stitch in a more orderly fashion is included.

A Guild member for about 30 years, Rosemary was a prolific embroiderer and much loved tutor. In addition to many pretty, fun projects in a variety of techniques, Rosemary developed and taught Intermediate courses in Blackwork, Drawn Thread Work, Hardanger and Schwalm. Entries are open for the second biennial Australian Textile Art Award! A $2,000 prize awaits the winner of this non-acquisitive juried award organised by ArtWear Publications. Closing Date - 31st January 2022.
The exhibition of finalists will be hosted by The Embroiderers Guild, Victoria from 26 March - 10 April 2022. The EGV will also award a $500 prize for the Best Use of Embroidery. Australian Textile Art Award 2022 - Call for Entries - 10th September 2021

"Alchemy" Victorian Feltmakers Exhibition - 1st September 2021
From 3rd - 29th October 2021, the Victorian Feltmakers' exhibition "Alchemy" will be held at Oakhill Gallery, 100 Tyabb Mornington Road, Mornington, Gallery hours 11.00 - 4.00 daily.

HISTORICAL NEEDLEWORK TOOLS - now viewable online. One of the EGV's most interesting collections is an array of historical needlework tools. A small team of volunteers curates and documents the many items received - often gifted by members. Thanks to Colleen Bettles and Wendy Worrell - Scissors, Tatting Shuttles and Mauchlineware have been made available on the Historical Tools Collection page with larger images uploaded to the Gallery page. Congratulations to member Lindsay Hussey, whose piece 'Reclaim, Restore, Revive' has been accepted into the inaugural 2021 Australian Fibre Arts Award, a biennial event. All pieces will be exhibited during September/October at the Embroiderers' Guild of NSW (COVID restrictions willing). This 2020 piece - "Caught in Flight" - is very different to the 2021 piece. EGV Member & Award-winning Milliner, Georgia Skelton has won both the 2021 Millinery Association of Australia Design Award and the Stephen Jones Patron’s Pick with her piece Fantasy Flight. Her updated version of a 1920s aviator cap is constructed using a recycled jumper and sunglasses to create a modern piece. Click heading to read more. Hats Off to Georgia! - 14th June 2021
