This small goldwork project introduces students to several fundamental techniques used in traditional metal thread embroidery. The design is inspired by the Persian paisley (Boteh) motif, a symbol of growth and elegance widely used in Persian textiles and decorative arts. In this class students will learn how to handle metal threads and apply several core goldwork techniques while stitching a small paisley sampler.
