CLASS - AMAM37 Canvaswork - "The View from Venice"
Ann-Marie Anderson-Mayes, our tutor from Western Australia, is also the proprietor of "Beautiful Stitches",
enabling her to spread her passion for colourful needlepoint.
Once again, we are fortunate to have her available to tutor at the Embroidery House, and also at our many regional branches across Victoria. ![]()
Ann-Marie will also be the General Meeting speaker at Embroidery House on 13th June 2026.
The "View from Venice Project" is worked in a combination of silk/alpaca and stranded silks on 18 or 24 Count Congress Cloth, but it will also work just as well if you choose to work it all in your own supply of perle' and stranded cottons.
It is embroidered using canvaswork and blackwork stitches and features a wide, decorative border.
The design measures approx 17.5cm x 17.5cm on Congress Cloth. In the workshop you will learn all the stitches required to complete the project. Students can choose to work this design on 18-count canvas if they prefer.
