AS0725 CUTWORK CLASS
Cutwork is a whitework technique in which parts of the fabric is cut away to create open areas within a design.
The edges of the fabric shapes are neatened with buttonhole stitch and buttonhole bars are used to strengthened and hold the cutaway areas.
In this class we will discuss the basic principles of cutwork design.
You will learn the predominant stitches used in this technique; blanket stitch edging, blanket stitch bars and eyelets and gain an
understanding of the order in which the embroidery must be worked.
During the two-day workshop, you will have time to practice your stitching skills and be well underway to complete your sampler.
Your sampler can easily be made into a simple pincushion or scented sachet.
