CLASS - MT23 TUDOR ROSE KNOT GARDEN /MINIATURE NEEDLEWORK ACCESSORIES
MT23 TUDOR ROSE KNOT GARDEN /MINIATURE NEEDLEWORK ACCESSORIES
Tudor Rose Knot Garden - The inspiration for this workshop has come from my love of the intricate patterns and plants of the Elizabethan gardens of the 16th century, the concept of a knot garden first emerging in Elizabethan England. Elizabethan knot gardens were designed to mimic the beautiful embroidery designs which were associated with that period in British history. This workshop allows you to recreate a typical knot garden using techniques and stitches from the Elizabethan period.
There are two options to this workshop. Option one: Knot garden, top design only. Option two: Knot Garden box comprising of embroidered top and four sides to be made into a box. Please note that kits do not include board for box or silk to line box.
Design size: 11.7cm x 11.7 cm.
Miniature Needlework Accessories - Traditionally Elizabethan workboxes contained many exquisite and interesting needlework accessories decorated with little caterpillars, butterflies and floral patterns. While working on and teaching my Elizabethan Casket project I have been stitching a range of miniature needlework accessories to add to my box. This class will take you through some traditional Elizabethan stitches while stitching miniatures for your own sewing box or some treasures to give to very special friends.
There will be two kits available on the day and you can choose to take one or both kits.
Kit 1 will have a needle roll, pincushion, tape measure box and pinwheel
Kit 2 will be an ornate glove scissor holder.
