The Japanese word Boro can be translated to "rags" but there is so much more meaning, and history hidden within the threads and stitches of these patched textiles. Leanne O'Sullivan will show the tradition of Boro with visible mending in this enjoyable class.
Participants will bring new life to vintage swatches of Japanese kimono fabric as we prepare Boro to make something useful. The morning begins with hand-stitching layers of vintage Japanese kimono fabric using the Boro technique.
