CB42 Introduction to Shaded Blackwork 

Ever imagined your own Blackwork interpretation of a favourite image? This two day technique class is the perfect way to build your knowledge of the step-by- step process that brings your vision to reality.

Starting with a simple image that is provided and the basic Blackwork stitches of Back Stitch and Running Back Stitch the focus of this class is on the learning the shading technique.

The class will include stitch basics for those new to Blackwork as required.

In this class we will cover: 

• image selection 

• interpreting shading

• preparing the design tracing

• transferring the design

• diaper pattern selection

• thread selection

• pattern sampling

• determining your stitch plan

• stitching the design

  Please note that you will be expected to do homework between sessions in order to make the most of the class.
