Canvas work is traditionally stitched on an open, even weave, stiffened fabric. The course will focus on providing participants with a broad base of knowledge and skills to develop individual designs on canvas using both traditional and contemporary approaches. The tutor will work closely with individuals. Participants will be required to complete a range of samples, two minor pieces and a major piece of canvas embroidery

Skill level: Advanced Beginner
(Students should have completed a Beginners class in this technique
or be able to demonstrate a level of expertise to the tutor’s satisfaction.)
An Intermediate Course comprises six teaching sessions of 4 hours each and is only available to EGV members or reciprocal guild members. You are however, very welcome to join the EGV and register for this course, click on the link above to be taken to our Membership Page.
