CLASS DC33 - Japanese Embroidery - Dancing of Flowers
DC33 - Japanese Embroidery - Dancing of Flowers
Dancing of Flowers is a delightful piece of Traditional Japanese Embroidery which is suitable for both beginner and continuing students. It is worked on Monmuji Silk, the design has been printed onto the fabric and some "colour" has been added. For a beginner student, the colour is often outlined or just embellished, continuing students would be encouraged to fill in all of the design.
The student will learn how to work with the beautiful Japanese flat silks and master the traditional Tekobari tool to help make the flowers look like a lovely soft velvet.
The student will also learn how to stitch Traditional Japanese Knots - quite different to others. Other stitches worked are Satin Stitch and Couching.
Working with #4 gold on Traditional Japanese Komas will help the stitcher to learn how to work and lay gold metallic thread in a traditional way, which again, is quite useful for other forms of embroidery.
Dancing of Flowers, is absolutely delightful to the eye when completed - the large, golden chrysanthemum offers a strong background to the pretty daisies and blossoms.
