CLASS - TP37 'Queen Rose Light' Crewel Embroidery
TP37 'Queen Rose Light' Crewel Embroidery
Outlines for the Queen Rose design were specially developed for one of Tatiana’s future books on crewelwork, Crewel Embroidery: Light & Night.
Each particular embroidery pattern of the book is supposed to be stitched twice: on off-white fabric and on some dark-colour fabric. That is where the name of the design comes from: ‘Light’ means that it is stitched on white embroidery fabric. There also is a ‘Dark’ version, worked upon dark green background.
The design combines quite a number of embroidery techniques, including two versions of the unique Fancy Filling stitch. This stitch usually attracts and even puzzles embroiderers, for it is not such a popular technique yet. During the two-day class we are going to focus on that technique in the first place (stitching a rose petal during the first day and a leaf on the second day). Besides we would study quite a number of other stitches and embroidery tips, some of the latter being developed by the author.
Stitched area size: 22,3 x 19,7cm (83/4 by 73/4 in). Please consider this measurement while preparing your embroidery hoops or frame.
