MTw41 - 'Organza Flower' - Transfer Printed Organza Petals
'Organza Flower' - Transfer Printed Organza Petals
Transprint inks are painted onto paper, transferred when dry onto poly/cotton mix fabrics. Experimenting with the different ways in which to use the inks from detailed images to pouring inks, using the hairdryer and straw to disperse and gain a gradual colour change. Ironing over ribbons, transferring to sparkling organzas.
It is then possible to cut out petal and leaf shapes that can be seared at the edges to prevent fraying and to form flower shapes to be used as brooches, necklaces, bracelets etc.
Marilyn will then demonstrate how machine stitching can be used to enhance the finished project. You will NOT need to bring a sewing machine.
