Hardanger - Beyond Beginners
Elegant and lace-like Hardanger embroidery is a counted thread technique originating in the Hardanger region of Norway. Designs are built up with geometric satin stitch (Kloster blocks) and squares of cut threads, traditionally in whitework. Further experience will be gained in cutting threads, woven bars and dove’s eyes, knowledge of appropriate linen and threads.
