GUIDANCE GROUPS

Guidance Groups

'Guidance Group' is our term for our regular Sit and Sew groups.

Some are general stitching groups, while others focus on particular techniques, and they are all great friendship groups. They don't provide formal lessons, but you will always find advice and ideas. Most meet monthly and there's a small attendance fee.

We encourage all members to join at least one group - you'll learn more about stitching and make some wonderful friends.

Most Melbourne guidance groups meet at Embroidery House in Malvern, though a few meet in community spaces. All members are welcome to these meetings. As well, some groups meet in private homes (contact office@embroiderersguildvic.org for more details). Most groups meet monthly, and a few groups meet either weekly or 3-4 times a year. Members often bring their lunch when attending the longer meetings.

All branches run guidance groups as well.

Details of Melbourne groups are provided in the list below. Click on the down arrow to learn more about each group, and when and where they meet.

4Elizabethanth SATURDAY 10.30AM - 3PM

There’s so much interest in Elizabethan embroidery! We encourage everyone working on an Elizabethan embroidery project to come along. You may be working on an individual project, or have attended one of Maree Talbot’s Elizabethan Embroidery project classes, either at Embroidery House or at one of the country branch classes, or you may be working on Di Fisher’s English Garden Band Sampler. Whatever your starting base, we’d love you to come

We exchange (by snail-mail) one ATC a month from February to November each year, and would love to have new members join the group. There is a given topic each month to inspire your ATC creation, and a swap buddy is allocated each month by the group leader. For inquiries or to join up please contact group convenor, Lynne Keys via email lynne_keys@yahoo.com.au
