SS1      INDIAN TORAN  DOOR HANGING
Skill level: Must have competent machine embroidery skills
Members: $141.00
Non-members: $201.00

Inspired by the richness of India’s textile heritage and her recent trip to India,
Sue Senewiratne has created a toran-style door- or wall-hanging that
celebrates the vibrant colours of India. This project is a great way of using your
“too special to use” stash of fabrics, brocades, braids, ribbons and trimmings.
The hanging can be constructed using a variety of machine techniques (normal
sewing, decorative stitches and free machine embroidery). The hanging can
then be embellished with shisha mirrors, sequins, beads and hand stitching.
You can choose to create either a traditional style toran or a simpler
rectangular wall hanging.
